A VILLAGE CONNECTED AT LAST

We are delighted to unveil the theme of our upcoming temporary exhibition: when the telephone came to Sutton.

Did you know that the telephone will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026?

This summer, come explore its history—from the first networks and companies to mobile phones, including the well-known shared lines (“party lines”).

Dive into the evolution of telephony in our region, a true crossroads between Montreal, the Eastern Townships, and New England since the late 19th century.

Join us—will you be there?
